This award is appropriate for someone who is involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes to learners. The delivery methods require group learning, mentoring in the workplace, supporting individual learners and reviewing their progress amongst many others. Thus, there is a large amount of "hands-on" with the learners. At Level 4, the person is also required to contribute to learning within the organisation. Assessment and internal verification of NVQs are also available as optional units.
Level 4 builds candidates skills and they need to complete 12 units, eight of which are mandatory:
Contributing to learning within the organisation
Evaluating and developing your own practice
Designing learning programmes
Agreeing learning programmes with learners
Managing the contribution of other people to the learning process
Creating a climate that promotes learning
Monitoring and reviewing progress with learners
Evaluating and improving learning and development programmes
Identifying individual learning aims and programmes OR Identifying the learning and development needs of the organisation.
They can then choose four further units from a range that includes:
Supporting learners by mentoring in the workplace
Responding to changes in learning and development
Providing learning and development in international settings
Preparing and developing resources to support learning.
After initial interview to determine suitability for the programme, candidates will be allocated a fully qualified assessor with long term experience in the Health and Safety sector. Your assessor will arrange one to one meetings with you to observe and assess the evidence you have produced toward your qualification. You will produce a set of portfolios containing this evidence along with supporting statements whilst full and continuous guidance will be given every step of the way.
Delegates who are successful in completing the full programme will be awarded a certificate in Occupational Health & Safety at level 3. If you wish you can obtain a certificate for unit accreditation to cover any units you do complete which do not make up the full programme.
